Happy Thanksgiving to you

We are on an extended Thanksgiving trip with our family starting in upstate NY.  After landing at 2am EST we drove to the Olde Mansion Inn in Troy.  We have stayed here before and enjoy the rooms and the lovely lady who owns it.

Since everyone was either at work or on the road on Tuesday, we headed to Williamstown, MA for a return visit to The Clark, an outstanding art museum.   The museum has recently reopened after an extensive renovation and we began our tour with their Winslow Homer collection.
This exhibit of early photography includes photos taken by European travelers in the 1840s and 1850s.  Many are of trips to the exotic Middle East.
Anna Lee has two favorite pieces at The Clark.  Of all the Degas displayed The Little Dancer is her favorite.
Smoke of Ambergris by John Singer Sargent is another favorite.
This Steinway Model D Pianoforte was built by Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema from 1884 to 1887.  It  has magnificent details even is the back of the legs.

These bookshelves are filled with art magazines and books from all over the world.
The museum was not the only place of beauty.  The view of the area was adorned with snow much to our enjoyment.
Louis-Leopold Boilly is believed to be the first to paint in tromp l’oeil in 1785.
Wednesday was our day to enjoy with Bennett.  We took him to the Children’s Museum of Science and Technology where he enjoyed exploring the interactive exhibits.

After our fun day we returned him to his parents at our cousin Eddie, Leora, Edan and Liat’s home where, over a delicious meal, we enjoyed catching up from our last visit.
