The sun is shining and calling us out to explore. We took a trip up to Yuba County to an area we had never even known about. The easy Buttermilk Bend Wildflower Trail at the South Yuba River State Park was adorned with wild flowers.
We hope you spend a vicarious walking moment enjoying these photos.
The area was originally owned by the Kneebone family, generations of whom are buried near the trail. The family operated the Kneebone Bridgeport Pleasure Resort. The resort had a swimming beach, dining hall and dance pavilion. Members of the Kneebone family continue to live in the area.
This gas station opened in 1927 and closed in 1944.
We are looking forward to starting to travel again next month and keep on blogging.
