On the Road Again, First Stop Ashland, OR

Jeff has joined us on our trek through Oregon to culminate with the total eclipse, but first the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.  Our first play was Unison, a poetic tale of terror reflecting the life of playwright August Wilson.  After his death his assistant opens a box releasing seven terrors or possible incidents in his life.  It is a powerful drama but a bit long (no intermission).  Jeff found the shift in musical presentations a bit weak.  Jerry praised the play and Anna Lee left the theater deeply moved.  What we don’t know is how much of the story is based on actual events in his life.

We had hoped to spend more time outdoors but the air up here is full of smoke and the temperatures are in the nineties so we had to find indoors entertainment.  Therefore, we spent today sampling Applegate Valley wines and found a few that were worthy of purchase.
This area is a popular parasailing destination (note the smoky air).
Longsword Winery had nice wine and we found the art and animal life quite entertaining.

Anna Lee could not resist the idea posted on the window of a bar in the town of Jacksonville.
