Food, food, mmmm

Jeff has arrived and will be with us for the first half of this trip.

We concentrated on one thing today, our tummies.  We took a seven-stop food tour.  Again, the coincidences.  Our tour guide. Skye, lived in Carmichael, our home town, for a short time in the eighties.

We started with the Scottish delicacy of haggis.  Originally it was like a kishka made with sheep stomach and a stuffing of whatever is left around after butchering the sheep or whatever.  For our first stop it was a key ingredient on the pizza and it was really good.

We stopped for coffee and a few other choices than back to haggis for a sandwich, again good.

The food part of the tour ended with a serving of sticky toffee pudding with a sugar bowl filled with cream.  Yummy.

The tour then went to the “Whiski Shop” for a dram to finish us off.  Not being a fan of scotch, Anna Lee passed off her portion to Jerry who did really enjoy the single malt.

It was not equal to the $25,000 bottle we were considering but still not bad.  We enjoyed all the food but the portions were so big we had to roll back to the hotel.

We spent the rest of the evening wandering the streets of Edinburgh watching buskers perform as part of the Fringe Festival.
