Tucumcari, NM

The answer is “Take It Easy” by Jackson Brown.  Saul answered first and Rochelle added that Glenn Fry was the other writer.  Fry died earlier this year.

We are getting our “Kicks on Route 66," but headed east not west and we are not driving a Corvette much to Anna Lee’s sorrow.  We have had another chance adventure, this time in Tucumcari.  This is one of those “left over” towns on the old Route 66.  Sad as the town is, someone had the lovely idea to put up murals commemorating the cattle history of the area and the noted travel route.  Enjoy scrolling on down on Route 66.

These were on Macs 4 Season Pest Control
In addition to enjoying the murals, we stopped by the Blue Swallow Motel.  Built in 1939 as the Blue Swallow Court, it was a popular stop along Route 66 but now is about a mile from Interstate 40, the cause of the decline in the town.

The motel is lovingly maintained and is a mecca for Route 66 aficionados.  Several garages have murals depicting that era.

One is for the younger set with a Cars motif.
