As we said in the previous blog entry, California is having unseasonably warm weather. But we are now up in Saranac Lake, NY, temperature 37 and drizzly at 2 pm EST. So what in the world are we doing here? The answer is practicing for colder weather. We are here for a few days to start acclimatizing for our trip to Iceland next weekend. We will be there with our son for eight days searching for the aurora borealis. For now its all about family, and, yes the cold.
We met up Saturday night with our cousins to enjoy Liat’s high school production of Secret Garden. Liat is a flutist and she was the voice of the robin during musical numbers. We had seen the play many years ago on Broadway in NYC. Our review: this was a much better production.
The orchestra is excellent. Some of the young singers may have a future in musical theater. After the play, seniors were honored with flowers.
We also enjoyed seeing cousin Ed and his new shirt.
Our time in Saranac will be to enjoy Bennett, beat Cheryl and Dave at games, and practice walking in snow and ice.
