Arches National Park

The purpose of this wonderful trip was for Cheryl, Dave and Bennett to enjoy a spring vacation before Bennett enters kindergarten and for us to be a part of that trip.  Our main destination was Arches NP.  We took hikes throughout the park, some all together and some divided into generations with the middle generation doing the hardest hikes.  This is one of those marvelous locations that speaks for itself so we will let you enjoy the views as we have with little commentary.

This juniper tree is an example of how nature survives.  In low water times, the tree decides if a branch is needed.  If it requires too much water, the tree will shut off the water to let the branch die so the remainder of the tree can live.  This process is repeated many times giving the tree a twisted appearance.

After a hard day's climbing and exploring, we all earned a delicious, cold and large treat.
