Chihuahua Botanical Garden, Fort Davis

This may be the low season for visiting botanical gardens but any time out here is lovely.
We started our tour with a peek at Modesta Canyon.
Next we headed into the botanical gardens where we found barrel cactus,
cholla
faxon yucca
Queen Victoria Agave.
We heard, smelled and saw sage brush.  Its wonderful fragrance attracts bees in various sizes all abuzz with the scent of nectar.

This snake look more fierce than he was.
Inside the Cactus and Succulent Greenhouse we found young cacti waiting to be transplanted into the garden.

The view from Clayton's Overlook showed the volcanic influence on the landscape.
