Sonnenberg Mansion in Canandaigua

Jeff joined us for dinner at Eddie’s Pub and a tour and concert of the Sonnenberg Mansion and Gardens in Canandaigua. The Sonnenberg’s were wealthy New Yorkers who had a “cabin” in Canandaigua as well as four other places. Much of their grounds are now occupied by a VA hospital. The home is filled with the typical accouterments of the wealthy of the late 19th century, animal heads and skins, European and Asian collectibles, and rooms befitting the gentlemen and ladies of the age.

They had a concert in the gardens the evening we were there. The gardens were lovely and a great setting for the small concert.
